Will I Have Restrictions After Cataract Surgery?
Caring for Your Eyes After Surgery 👁️ . After your procedure, we’ll provide you with clear, personalized instructions tailored to your specific eye condition. To help your healing go smoothly, here are some general tips to keep in mind:
- Protect Your Eyes While Sleeping. Wear the plastic eye shield when you sleep—usually for a week or more—to prevent accidental bumps or rubbing during the night.
- Shield from Sun and Wind. When you're outdoors during the day, pop on your sunglasses to guard your healing eye from bright light and dust or wind.
-Take It Easy. Give your body and eyes time to heal: avoid heavy lifting, strenuous workouts, deep bending, rubbing your eyes, using eye makeup, or swimming for the first week.
-Gentle on Screens. Feel free to enjoy reading, watching TV, or using your phone and computer—but know that your eyes might get tired a bit more quickly than usual. Listen to your body and rest when needed.
